The circuit for separating NTSC complex video signals into luminance and chrominance signals by using a two line memory comprises a chrominance signal detection unit (100) for extracting different chrominance signals (C1-C3) from the three vertically-neighboring lines (n-1,n,n+1) of luminance and chrominance signal (Y-C,Y+C,Y-C), a luminance signal detection unit (200) for extracting luminance signals (Y1-Y3) from the neighboring lines (n-1,n,n+1), and a luminance and chrominance selection unit (300) for selecting each one from the chrominance and luminance signals (C1-C3)(Y1-Y3).
