The circuit for separating NTSC complex video signals (CV) into a chrominance and luminance signals after separating the cross- talk generating signal components, comprises a low pass filter (100) for extracting a low band of luminance signal from the signal (CV), a substractor (200) for substracting the LPF (100) output signal from the signal (CV), a control signal generator (300) for receiving the LPF (100) output signal and a luminance variation signal to control the signal separation, a separation filter (400) for selecting one from the chrominance and luminance signals by using the phase difference of chrominance signals between scanning lines, a delay (500) for delaying the LPF (100) output signal, and an adder (600) for adding the low band of luminance signal (YL) (500) to the high band of luminance signal (YH) (400).
