#CMT# #/CMT# The orthosis has a lower gutter (3) for covering a mandibular arcade, and top semi-gutters (4) for receiving each of two maxillary semi-arcades, which cover molars and canines except incisives. The lower gutter comprises a rib (15) turned towards the top and the front. Each top semi-gutter is connected to the lower gutter by a lateral rod (21). The rod (21) is inclined from the top semi-gutters (4) towards the lower gutter (3). Metallic frames are drowned in a resin to form a body of the gutters (3, 4). #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for being equipped with a jawbone of a patient. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The orthosis permits a powerful wedging of a lower jawbone and an upper jawbone of a patient, thus permitting a palatine support of the tongue during deglutition, and hence improving the penetration of air flow in upper respiratory tracts. The night snore as well as apnea and hypoxia of sleep is therefore effectively reduced. The orthosis is simple and compact in structure. The semi-gutter does not cover the incisive, thus maintaining the sensibility of the upper incisive block. The metallic frame permits to rigidify the body of the gutters, and decreases the height of bottom of the gutters, thus allowing free vertical movements of the lower jawbone of a patient, and enabling the patient to sleep with a closed mouth. The presence of the rib avoids the interposition of the tongue between the lower gutter and the top semi-gutters during deglutition.
