PURPOSE:To reduce loss and to enable high-speed operation by comprising the switch of a switch module in which switch elements replacing time slots are arranged at each cross point of wiring. CONSTITUTION:In a switch module 20, switch elements (SE) 30 replacing the time slots are arranged at each cross point of the wiring arranged in the shape of matrix inside the module. Signals having time multiplexing degree (m) of time slots TS1 to TSm are inputted to k (number) highways #1 to #k, and m (number) multiplexed signals are outputted from the switch module 20. Thus, by providing the switch elements 30 which operate as shown above at each cross point within the switch module 20, a time division type optical communication path (optical switch) not requiring a space switch can be realized. |
