PURPOSE:To provide the color EL panel display device which can display even a video signal of 60Hz in frame frequency. CONSTITUTION:A color signal switching circuit 3 converts the array of respective color signals constituting a 3-bit parallel color signal into the same order as the array order of color filters of a color EL panel. A read address or write address is set in a 1st memory circuit 8 or 2nd memory circuit 9 alternately by a read address generating circuit 10, a write address generating circuit 11, and an address converting circuit 12. At this time, a read address set period is set to an integral multiple of a write address set period. Then while the parallel color signal of one frame after the conversion is written in the 1st memory circuit 8 or 2nd memory circuit 9 alternately, the color signal of the written last frame is read out plural times alternately and the light emission repetitive frequency of an EL light emission layer is increased above the 60Hz frame frequency to compensate a decrease in light emission brightness due to color filter passage.
