The process uses sheets of paper of the same, or different texture, colour, shape, graining and compsn. which are impregnated with a resin of urea and/or melamine condensed with formaldehyde in aq. medium. A wood panel or similar substrate is covered with an impregnated paper sheet, over which are disposed fragments of other sheets to produce the desired decorative pattern or design. The assembly is then pressed under low pressure of 18-24 kg/sq.cm between plates at 170-185 deg.C, the plate temps. being compensated to prevent warping of the finished prod.
