<p>A disc cartridge for rotatably accommodating an information carrier disc (1), which comprises a first casing (2) having a first cavity (2c) defined therein for accommodating a portion of the information carrier disc (1), and a second casing (3) having a second cavity (3c) defined therein for accommodating a remaining portion of the information carrier disc (1) and operatively coupled with the first casing (2) for movement relative to the first casing (2) between extended and retracted positions to bring the disc cartridge into opened and closed positions, respectively. Springs (5) are provided for urging the second casing (3) to the first position. When the second casing (3) is moved against the springs (5), the disc cartridge is brought to the opened position, allowing one or more access openings (2d) to be exposed to the outside of the disc cartridge. A disc retainer (6) is also provided for avoiding any arbitrary motion of the information carrier disc (1) within a disc chamber defined by the first and second cavities (2c, 3c) in the first (2) and second (3) casings. <IMAGE></p> |
