PURPOSE:To cut out scattered beam and to enable fluorescence detection with high S/N ratio by providing an exciting light source which emits linearly polarized laser beam in the predetermined direction and a polarization filter which cut out a polarized beam, at a prepositioned stage of a light sensor. CONSTITUTION:A laser 1 beam polarized in the vertical direction against its light axis thereof, is led to a focusing lens 5 via mirrors 2 and 4, and a beam splitter 3, and is condensed onto a capillary 6. When a sample in the capillary 6 is excited by laser beam radiation and generates fluorescence, the fluorescence is collected by a condense lens 10 placed to the direction rectangularly to the radiation light axis of the laser beam, is led to a photomultiplier tube 14 via an iris aperture 11, a polarization filter 12 and a band pass filter (BBF) 13, and the strength thereof is detected. Reflection beam from the capillery surface among scattering beams from the capillery 6 wall is cut out by the polarization filter 12 and thereby never reaches the BBF 13 and the photomultiplier tube 14 at all. |
