<p>PURPOSE:To decrease the quantity of the heat radiated at the transverse ends of a slab during heating of this slab or after the extrusion from a heating furnace. CONSTITUTION:This heating method is constituted of a working stage for preforming a material to be heated, the induction heating furnace for heat treating the material which is to be heated and is transported from this working stage and a rolling stage for rolling the heated material to be heated and forming the material to a desired steel sheet. Four rolls 1a are disposed in such a manner that the rolling down surfaces thereof can face the transverse angle parts of the slab 4 to roll the angle parts 4a of the horizontally transported slab 4 and to chamfer these angle parts 4, by which the slab is preformed in the above-mentioned working stage 1. The rolls 1a are installed by inclining the axes thereof upward from the horizontal direction so as to meet the chamfer angle to chamfer. The rolling reduction thereof is set according to the chamfer quantity.</p> |
