The suspension wing (1) comprises box-section (3) alongside each other, covered with cloth and connected together. Inlets for air inflating the box-sections are situated near the inflated leading edges (2) and the inside (15) of the wing. The latter maintains the geometrical shape during the whole of the flight, and is permanently secured to a rigid structure (18). It incorporates stiffening devices behind and close to the inflated portion of the leading edge. The shape can be maintained by suspension ropes (23) of lengths to give the desired shape. The rigid structure can be formed by two Y-shaped components spaced apart in the transverse direction and joined by a cross-strut at the junction between their arms, which are telescopic and lockable in position.
