An auxiliary power supply device for a vehicle has a capacitor unit, a temperature detection section, and a charge control section. The capacitor unit is constructed from at least one electric double-layer capacitor. The temperature detection section detects temperature near the capacitor unit. The charge control section controls, based on the result of the detection by the temperature detection section, voltage for charging the capacitor unit.
