<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently perform a search operation by simultaneously reading a preliminary recording zone in a forward recording area and a preliminary recording zone in a reverse recording area by magnetic heads and simultaneously searching the forward and reverse recording areas. CONSTITUTION:Program searching signals D1 in subcodes 8 and 9 for searching, recorded in the preliminary recording zones A1 and B1 are reproduced by high speed reading to be in an envelope waveform respectively. These envelope waveforms can simultaneously be obtained on both sides of A and B, and hence the head of a target data is searched only by one-way traveling of the tape. Since a buffer for the above is provided, even when the program search signals D1 are simultaneously read out of the preliminary recording zone A1 on the side of A and the preliminary recording zone B1 on the side of B, time lag can be effected between reproduced signals from two heads 17, and 18, and hence the envelope signals to be sent simultaneously from the individual preliminary recording zones A1 and B1 on the sides of A and B are separately recognized.</p> |
