PURPOSE:To effectively remove the ozone generated within an electrophotographic copying machine and to simultaneously obviate the generation of the deterioration in a photosensitive layer with UV rays by irradiating transfer paper with the UV rays from its rear surface side. CONSTITUTION:An electrophotographic sensitive body 1 provided with the photosensitive layer 2 and the ozone removing device which cracks and removes the ozone generating around the photosensitive body 1 during the copying operation by the irradiation with the UV rays from a UV light source 12 are provided. A means 25 for regulating the timing for lighting the UV light source 12 in such a manner that the rear surface side of the transfer paper 6 is irradiated with the UV rays is provided when the transfer paper 6 is provided around the photosensitive body 1.
