The invention relates to improvements in a platform designed to equip workstations along dressing lines, particularly as regards hygiene. Such a lifting platform comprises a lifting plate surrounded by a balustrade (guard rail) (9) formed of an assembly of tubes, at least the front part of which is cowled in order to form a bottom separation between the operators and the animals. According to the invention, sprinkling means are provided to produce a film of water over the outside of the cowling (14), and means are provided for collecting the water at the base of the cowling (14) in order to avoid dirtiness and collection of debris therein. A horizontal section (90a) of a tube of the balustrade (9) forms a spray boom. <IMAGE>
