PURPOSE:To suppress the deterioration of picture quality and the loss of the gradation feeling which are caused by the reduction processing of a pseudo halftone image. CONSTITUTION:A density detector circuit 46 previously measures the density of a pseudo halftone image outputted from an image input part 42. An image reduction processing circuit 45 reduces the pseudo halftone image received from the part 42, and a picture element permuting circuit 49 permutes the picture elements which are thinned out with the reduction processing. The image obtained after permutation of picture elements is inputted to a density corrector circuit 51 and then corrected into the density measured by the circuit 46 based on an original. dither matrix outputted from a dither matrix input part 41. Thus it is possible to prevent the loss of the gradation feeling and other defects. |
