<p>A multi-lane controller providing redundancy comprises two lanes (A and B). Each lane comprises an input/output interface (1a, 1b), a data flow controller (15a, 15b) and a control data processor (14a, 14b). Each data flow controller (15a, 15b) receives input data from and supplies output data to both input/output interfaces (1a, 1b).
