The CRT deflection yoke has a stray magnetic field blocking element (6) providing a magnetic field which opposes the stray magnetic field generated by the horizontal deflection coil and which uses 2 coils (11) opposing a flange (4) and centred relative to the centre axis of the deflection yoke. The coils (11) have opposing winding directions and are contained in a housing (7) having the same curvature as the flange (4) and secured to the latter, with ventilation openings (17) for the interior of the housing (7) provided in a cooperating cover (14). USE/ADVANTAGE - For blocking stray magnetic field resulting from horizontal deflection coil. Eliminates magnetic body on which coil is conventionally wound.
