PURPOSE:To automatically discharge the water in the activated-carbon cartridge and electrolytic cell and to leave water in the electrolytic cell while a reverse voltage is impressed on an electrode plate in the electrolytic cell by closing the feed valve for city water, etc. CONSTITUTION:The feed water is allowed to flow through 10, an inlet passage 12, an impurity removing means 14 having a check valve to introduce air when the water supply is stopped at its top, an outlet passage 18 and an electrolytic cell 16 and introduced into an alkaline water passage 38 and an acidic water passage 40. The pipelines 12 and 18 are connected by a pipeline 34 having a check valve to allow water to flow from 12 to 18 at a specified differential pressure. A pipeline 46 having a check valve 46 to be opened at a specified differential pressure is branched from the outlet passage 18 at a position 48 below the impurity removing means 14 and electrolytic cell 16 and connected to a water discharge passage. |
