PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid replacement of an ink cartridge due to the fact that ink cannot be stored in a waste ink collection chamber and avoid enlargement of the ink cartridge.SOLUTION: In an ink cartridge 10, a waste ink introduction port 57 is formed at a partitioning plate 50 which partitions ink chambers 30(1)-30(4) and an ink trap 22 positioned above the ink chambers. The waste ink introduction port 57 is communicated with an atmosphere open part 60 through the ink chambers 30(1)-30(4) by an ink chamber communicating flow path 71 and an atmosphere open part communicating flow path 72 formed in the partitioning plate 50. This allows ink exceeding the capacity of the waste ink collection chamber 20 to flow from the waste ink introduction port 57 into the ink chambers 30(1)-30(4) through the ink trap 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
