A load carrier has a holder (10) which is located behind a vehicle (1) and which is disposed on or forms part of carrier device (9). In order readily to permit the holder (10) to be removed from the region behind the vehicle (1), the carrier device (9) has at least one but preferably two arms (8) which extend up over the roof (3) of the vehicle (1) and which are there pivotally secured in a rack (5, 6) which extends transversely over the vehicle roof (3) and is secured in the side edge regions thereof. The pivot shaft (13) is horizontal and is transversely directed in relation to the vehicle. |
