PURPOSE:To provide a KANJI(Chinese character)/KANA(Japanese syllable) converter which can convert a KANJI character string for which reading is not known into a KANA character string. CONSTITUTION:The KANJI/KANA converter consists of a character string segmentation means 3 segmenting a KANJI mixed character string into the character string of a segmentation unit or a character unit, a segmentation result storage means 4 storing the character string of the segmentation unit and the character unit, a conversion candidate storage means 5 storing the plural KANJI mixed character strings and the KANA character string corresponding to the reading and a collation means 6 collating the character string of the segmentation unit of the character unit and the KANJI mixed character string stored in the conversion candidate storage means 5 to output a corresponding KANA character string. The KANJI mixed character string is segmented into the segmentation unit of the character unit and collated with the character string stored in the conversion candidate storage means 5 at the respective segmentation units or character units so that the KANA character string corresponding to the manner for reading the KANJI mixed character string is outputted. |
