PURPOSE: To provide a power supply for a laser in which excitation and heating are not coupled but separated, and both can be obtained by electrical discharging in a metal vapor laser. CONSTITUTION: An electrical pulse is supplied, so that a heating module connected to electrodes 16 and 18 of an enclosure 12 containing a metal vaporizes a metal. An excitation module 14 supplies an electrical pulse to excite metal steam. A laser operates periodically, and an excitation pulse quickly ionizes the metal to trigger a heating pulse. |
