COMPONENT MOUNTING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To enable a component mounting device to suck and mount a component at precise timing, where the mounting device is able to carry out a mounting operation at a high speed with a rotating drum which rotates continuously. CONSTITUTION:An encoder 23 is provided to a drive motor 4 which drives a rotating drum 3 through the intermediary of a speed reduction mechanism. A microcomputer 20 detects the rotational position and the rotational speed of a rotating drum 3 by the signal of an encoder 23 inputted into an UP/DOWN counter 24. Moreover, the microcomputer 20 obtains the suction and mounting timing of suction and mounting nozzles basing on the rotational position and the rotational speed of the rotating drum 3, switch timing is obtained from the above timings and a time required for switching a suction valve 18 and a mounting valve 19, and the suction valve 18 and the mounting valve 19 are controlled.
