PURPOSE:To mass-produce a low-cost solar cell of good electrical performance, in which its back electrode is positively in close contact with an amorphous silicon layer. CONSTITUTION:A transparent electrode 2, an amorphous silicon layer 3, a thin metal layer 4 and a back electrode 5 are laminated on a transparent substrate 1. The metal layer 4 is made of an alkali-resistant metal and it has strong adhesion to both the amorphous silicon layer 3 and the back electrode 5. The back electrode 5 is made of an alkali-resistant metal. Through holes 6 or grooves passing through the back electrode, metal layer and amorphous layer are provided by wet etching. According to this method, the back electrode is positively in close contact with the amorphous silicon layer, and the back electrode can be made of a metal having a good reflectivity. Wet etching enables mass production at low cost. |
