<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an exchange network whose input/output path numbers are easily expanded through the use of unit switches having a comparatively less input output port number without increasing the number of switch stages. CONSTITUTION:In the exchange network comprising plural switch stages S1-S3 connected by a cross network link 11 and implementing exchange connection between plural input/output paths 21, 22, the switch stages S1, S3 are made up of modules 20. The module 20 is of 2-stage configuration having c-set of nXn unit switches 10 (n>=4, 2<=c<=n) respectively, and an output port of each unit switch of a 1st stage is connected to an input port of each unit switch of a 2nd stage by a delta shaped inner link 11. The switching speed of the unit switch 10 and a data transmission speed on the internal link 11 have a speed more than a multiple of (c) of the data transmission speed on the input/ output paths 21, 22.</p> |
