PURPOSE:To obtain the recording medium high in sensitivity and resolving power by forming an absorption layer complementary almost to the color of a reading laser beam on the back of a recording layer in a heat mode laser beam recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The absorption layer 2 including a coloring matter selected suitably so that it will be almost complementary to the color of a reading laser beam is formed on a support 3 of a glass substrate or the like, and an evaporation layer 1 in thin film with a large light absorptivity is further formed thereon. After writing from focusing the laser beam to the recording medium to deformation or evaporation of the evaporation layer 1, a readout is performed with the reading laser beam 4, then the laser beam 4 is absorbed at the exposed absorption layer 2, and thus a signal in high contrast is obtainable. |
