Coated article which consists of a substrate made of metal alloy based on nickel, chromium, copper or iron, and of a coating which forms a barrier for oxygen in order to insulate the metal surface against attack by oxygen at temperatures which may rise up to 1200@C. The coating includes a vitroceramic selected from barium silicate and strontium silicate systems, which are characterised by the presence of additives which permit the formation of a continuous glass coating, exhibiting good flow before the coating is hardened by crystallisation. These additives include the refractory oxides Al2O3, ZrO2 and Y2O3, the transition metal oxides MnO, CoO, NiO and FeO, and MgO. |
