<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an isothiazolone liquid formulation effectively usable as a stabilized nonmedical germicide by blending an isothiazolone compound with a glycolic solvent and ammonium nitrate. CONSTITUTION:The objective isothiazolone liquid formulation is obtained by dissolving a compound expressed by the formula (X is H or halogen; Y is lower alkyl) in a glycolic solvent (e.g. ethylene glycol) and blending 80-99.9wt.% resultant solution with 20-0.1wt.% ammonium nitrate. The formulation is prepared by blending 0.1-20wt.% isothiazolone compound therein. The decomposition of the isothiazolone compound can remarkably be controlled for a long period without including a metallic salt which is a conventionally used stabilizer. The formulation contributes to the expansion of uses of the isothiazolone formulation without causing the disorder such as shock of emulsion with the metallic salt even when added to a latex, a coating color, etc., for use.</p> |
