Photocurable hot embossing plates consist of (a) a heat-resistant, dimensionally stable support and (b) a photocurable, relief-forming layer, which is soluble or dispersible in water, contg. (b1) partly or almost completely hydrolysed PVA-alkanoate ester as binder, (b2) alkenecarbonylamino-N-methylene ether(s) of polyhydric alcohol(s) as photopolymerisable monomer(s) and (b3) photopolymerisation initiators. The novel features are that : 1) layer (b) contains another binder, i.e. (b11) alkenecarboxylate ester and/or alkenecarbonylamino-N-methylene ether of (b1) and/or (b12) alkenecarboxylate ester and/or alkenecarbonylamino-N-methyl ether of partly or almost completely hydrolysed graft copolymers of vinyl alcohol-alkanoate esters and alkylene oxides; and 2) layer (b) is more than 0.8 mm thick.
