The orange light emitter fluorescent material of (Al,Ln) BO3:Eu,Tb [Ln=Sc,Lu,La and/or Y is mfd. by (a) mixing aluminium oxide with boron oxide (B2O3) or boric acid (H3BO3), Sc,Lu,La and/or Y cpd., europium oxide (Eu2O3), Sc,Lu,La and/or Y cpd., europium oxide (Eu2O3), terbium oxide (Tb4O7) and barium fluoride (BaF2) and potassium phosphorate (K2HPO4), (b) firing the mixt. under the atmosphere at 820-1600 deg.C for 0.5-7 hr., and (c) washing the obtd. fluorescent material with 10 % hydrochloric acid. The fluorescent material has a good chemical stability and a high luminance, and is used in a cathode ray tube for the monochrome display.
