OPTICAL CABLE LAYING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To enable laying an optical cable without sharply bending a pipeline by constituting the above device in such a manner that an optical cable introducing port and delivery port are mounted freely rotatably in their positions around the center of the device. CONSTITUTION:The introducing port 6 and/or delivery port 7 of the optical cable 2 is mounted to a movable member 11 rotatable around the contact point between the optical cable 2 and a driving wheel 1. The movable member 11 is held within a hermetic container 3 via a hermetic material 17. The direction of the delivery port 7 with the optical cable introducing port 6 can be continuously changed by rotating the movable member 11 of this device. The optical cable 2 is withdrawn from the optical cable introducing port 6 into the hermetic container 3 by the driving wheel 1. This optical cable 2 is press fed in a pipeline 8 by air flow 9 introduced from a gas introducing port 5. The driving wheel 1 is preferably so driven by executing proper torque control so as not to damage the optical cable 2. As a result, the generation of an undue stress in the pipeline 8 is obviated.
