PURPOSE:To convert a word of a foreign language expressed in KATAKANA (square form of Japanese syllabary) into its pronunciation symbol and meaning by inputting the word. CONSTITUTION:A user inputs the foreign language expressed in KATAKANA from an input means 1. A decomposing means 3 decomposes the input KATAKANA word by deleting a macron (-). A generating means 4 takes the pronunciation symbol corresponding to the decomposed KATAKANA out of a file 6 and performs a process for extracting the word corresponding to the pronunciation symbol out of a dictionary file 7 for all combinations. An output means 2 outputs the corresponding word when the word is found or a message showing that the corresponding word is not found when the corresponding word is not found to the user. |
