PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition excellent in heat resistance by mixing a chlorinated vinylic resin with a plasticizer comprising an alkyl ester of a benzophenonetetracarboxylic acid. CONSTITUTION:A chlorinated vinylic resin (e.g. a vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer) is mixed with a plasticizer comprising an alkyl ester of 3,3',4,4',- benzophenonetetracarboxylic acid of the formula (wherein R is 4-12C linear or branched alkyl) to produce the title composition. The amount of the compound of the formula is preferably about 20-100 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. chlorinated vinylic resin. The compound of the formula can easily be synthesized by the esterification of 3,3',4,4',-benzophenonetetracarboxylic acid or its dianhydride with an alcohol, such as n-octyl alcohol or n-hexyl alcohol, in a solvent in the presence of sulfuric acid. |
