<p>PURPOSE:To lower the ignition and combustion properties of activated carbon and to withdraw the ignition preventing equipment tower in a solvent recovery apparatus by allowing activated carbon and hydrophobic zeolite or silica gel to coexist as the solvent gas adsorbent of the solvent recovery apparatus by an adsorbing system. CONSTITUTION:As a solvent gas recovering adsorbent, hydrophobic zeolite or silica gel is mixed with activated carbon in a ratio of about 1/4-4/1 before use to improve the adsorbing capacity of hydrophibic zeolite or silica gel to toluene and that of activated carbon to ethyl acetate. Since activated carbon becomes extremely hard to ignite by the coexistence of hydrophobic zeolite or silica gel, ignition preventing equipment can be withdrawn.</p> |
