The "teat" is formed from a hard material such as silver or gold and comprises a body (1) formed as a teat nipple (2) and guard (3), a closure (4) and security means (5). The body has a hollow interior to which access can be obtained by removal of the closure and in which a souvenir of a child, such as a tooth or lock of hair, may be retained as a keepsake. The closure may have a screw-threaded plug (13) which is inserted into a bush (12) soldered within the body (1), and a ring (15). The security means comprises lengths of chain (16, 17) interconnecting the body (1) and closure (4), the lengths of chain being interconnected by a lump link (18) which is separable to allow the closure to be removed from the body.
