The air inlet tube (32) which engages with the aerosol atomizer (15) is attached for swivel movement on a support (30). The atomizer is securely fixed by a safety (18) which engages with the head of the atomizer when the latter is engaged with the inlet pipe and is swivelled. The compressor (8) is started by a starter switch (20) which is switched on by a part (46) of the atomizer when the latter is swivelled towards the safety device. ADVANTAGE - Easier operation where the compressor is not operated until the atomizer is fixed by the safety device.
