<p>A valve 2, particularly for use with compressors, comprises a seat 3 for a valve member 10, a spacer 4 and a restraining member 5, mounted on a riveting sleeve 6. The valve is fitted into a recess in the compressor housing, and a tensioning bolt (7, fig 1) passes through the compressor housing and the sleeve and screws into the seat 3. The sleeve has at least one annular groove (16, fig 3) on its inner or outer surface, so that when the bolt is tightened, the sleeve is compressed and deformed in the region of the groove. thus clamping the valve pans to the housing. There may be several grooves of differing width and depth (fig 4). Recesses (19, 23. fig 4) may be provided on the seat and restraining member, so that the sleeve is deformed into these recesses to enhance clamping. <IMAGE></p> |
