PURPOSE:To additionally output to a file of the compressed data and to increase the processing speed in a file data compression system. CONSTITUTION:A record reading part 2 reads sequentially the records out of an input file 1 of the fixed length and then sends these records to a hexadecimal conversion part 3. The pert 3 converts each digit of the received records into a code of two digits consisting of only the characters of 16 types, i.e., 0-9 and A-F shown in a hexadecimal, form. A compressing part 4 outputs the first record to a record writing part 5 without giving any processing to the record among the records outputted from the part 3. Meanwhile the data compression processing is applied to each of 2nd-n-th records end these compressed records are outputted to the part 5. At the part 5 the records are successively stored in an output file 6. |
