The switch cabinet has front and rear frames joined together by struts (20) extending over the length of the cabinet to provide a frame structure which is clad with a top wall (15), two side walls (25) and a rear wall, all of which have bent edges. The struts (20) have a vertical bearing face (23) for the sidewall and a channel receiving its bent edges (37), a further channel receiving the bent edge (17) of the top wall provided by a vertical seal (29). The latter bent edge has openings (18) adjacent the corners of the top wall receiving a sealing or bearing profile (12) of the front and rear frame. ADVANTAGE - Allows top wall to be made from low-cost sheet material with simple bent edges.
