The etching solution for aluminum foil of an electrolytic condenser is prepared by adding 3-7 vol% sulphuric acid to 3 vol% hydrochloric acid solution at 60 deg.C. The etching method comprises (a) immersing the aluminum foil into the etching solution, (b) applying the alternate current with 0.1 A/cm2 current density and 400 Hz frequency for 60-75 sec. The mechanical strength and the electrostatic capacity of the aluminum foil increase, and the amount of corrosion decreases, by using this etching solution and method.
