The a.c. voltage detector has a reference input (4). The evaluator and detector are part of a monitor for a.c. switches (11,13). A starting time for an interrogation window for the information, related in the a.c. voltage detector to the zero passage of the reference value, can be detected with increasing frequency magnitude so that the detection depends on the frequency.
