A process is disclosed for applying a possibly coated adhesive film on a substrate. For that purpose, a carrying tape (9) provided with the adhesive film (10) is led at an acute angle over the pressing edge (18) of an elastically movable applying tongue (7). The carrying tape provided with the adhesive film is led to the side of the pressing edge of the applying tongue opposite to the substrate. The carrying tape is pressed together with the adhesive film thereon by the pressing edge upon the substrate, whereas the applying tongue is advanced with its pressing edge over the substrate, so that the carrying tape is gradually drawn over the pressing edge, the adhesive layer is glued to the substrate and released from the carrying tape. |
