A shift valve (312) assembly for an auxiliary transmission section (14) shift control system (300)/method is provided which will prevent auxiliary section synchronized clutch (922, 128) damage, and will complete the auxiliary section shift, if the main transmission section (12) is engaged during an auxiliary section shift into high speed ratio thereof.
