<p>PURPOSE:To provide a cooling device for the driving wheel of an electric automobile provided with an electric motor as travel motive power, especially a motor-driven wheel fitted with an outer rotor type motor so as to form a direct drive unit. CONSTITUTION:Ventilating holes 1a, 8b are provided in one or both of the inner cover 1' and outer cover 8 of a motor-driven wheel motor, and air filters 10 are installed at the ventilating holes. A protective cover 9 fitted onto the rotor side in the further outer side of the outer covers 8 provided with the ventilating holes 8b is installed facing inward, and centrifugal fins 9 are fitted in the radial direction of the inner surface outer peripheral part of the protective cover 9. The components of a wheel motor is thereby cooled effectively by forced ventilating action and moreover the invasion of muddy water, dust and the like is prevented completely so as to contribute considerably to the performance maintenance of motor-driven wheels and the maintenance free state.</p> |
