The apparatus which produces fine fiber by melt-spinning fine polyester fiber whose single fiber fineness is 0.1-0.5 den. and which has filaments more than 100 ea. is characterized by: length (L) being 30-50 cm between the bottom of spinneret (4) and the top surface of cooling-air outlet (6) on the side cooling vessel; setting an air-passable shutter (10), whose thickness is below 5 mm, and which is a plate having holes (11) of diameter of 2-5 mm, arranged at equi distances in a way that the distance between center of each hole is 2-5 times that of diameter of each hole, or is layered with 1-3 sheets of metal-net (12) of above 60 mesh, at the border surface of non-aired area (8) and the aired area of the side cooler.
