PURPOSE:To expand even image data corresponding to a complicated pattern on an image memory at a high speed and to read the expanded image data out and constitute a normal bit pattern. CONSTITUTION:The pattern generation device which writes data in the memory according to design data on a pattern A and reads data for the pattern A out of the memory, divides the memory into storage areas specified with X and Y addresses corresponding to picture elements arrayed in two dimensions, writes information XL on the linear length of the pattern A into the storage area corresponding to the picture element on the left side of the pattern A, and converts information in the storage area corresponding to picture elements in the read length into data of specific level and outputs it when reading the linear length information out of the storage area of the memory. |
