PURPOSE:To easily grasp a document preparing condition and to improve the efficiency of document preparing and editing work even without referring to the text of a document by executing outline display for instructed one part of the document based on index information and attached information analyzed from the document. CONSTITUTION:This device is constituted of a controller CPU 1, ROM 2 for storing document processing control program, keyboard 3, outline display work area RAM 4, and disk 5 to store document data or the like. The user of the device prepares document data 20 controlling index lines, text lines and sub text lines into one group. Next, these document data 20 are analyzed, these analyzed results are temporarily stored in the RAM 4, and the index lines and text lined of the analyzed document data are displayed by using a normal display function. The outline display is executed to the selected index lines by moving a cursor 81 displayed on a CRT 6 while using the keyboard 3. |
