<p>PURPOSE: To prevent deterioration in image quality due to transmission by separating low frequency components of a video signal to reduce the frequency band, extracting a DC component and transmitting it through frequency band compression. CONSTITUTION: In encoding processes H1, V1, low frequency components with respect to horizontal and vertical axes and a time base are respectively separated and sub-blocks are decided and 1/M decimation is applied to each sub-block to produce a block whose frequency band is compressed and to extract a DC component. Then in decoding processes V2, H2, the DC component is interpolated by a multiple of M with respect to the horizontal and vertical axes and the block from which the DC component is extracted is decoded. Thus, only video signals at a low frequency band having much information quantity are sent as digital data from a point B among video signals with a prescribed specification and other sub-block data are sent as analog data from a point C.</p> |
