The air filter has both a particle filter and an adsorption filter in one porous base. A pref. adsorptive medium is a porous polymer based on styrene-divinylbenzene and is bonded to the base material pref. with polyurethane which has little or no solvent and has masked isocyanate gps. with di- or poly-amine crosslinking agent. The base material is pref. a fabric stiffened with thermoplastic and polyester fibres in partic. USE/ADVANTAGE - Useful for car interiors. The filter has a simple construction (contrasted with previous filters which have two different layers, made separately and then combined together).
