An electronically conductive polymer doped with anions of a heteropolyacid of formula: Hn(XMyVy',Oz> in which n, y, y' and z are such that 2</=n</=6, 6</=y</=18, 0</=y'</=12, 24</=z</=70 and 6</=y+y'</=18, X is an element such as P or Si, and M is Mo or W. These polymers can be prepared by chemical or electrochemical oxidation from a solution containing the heteropolyacid and the monomer capable of forming an electronically conductive polymer by oxidation, for example pyrrole, thiophene, aniline, para- phenylenediamine, acetylene, benzene and their substituted derivatives.
